About RRSH

River Rye Sport Horses is a family run and owned stud in rural North Yorkshire.
We began breeding horses back in 2004 with only three mares. You will find further information on their breeding, and useful links on seperate pages. We have worked with horses for many years prior to breeding, and have developed an understanding for them, our aim is to breed succesful sport horses for jumping and dressage disciplines, break them in with view to sell them onto competition yards.
We aim to link in with the DEFRA strategy for the horse industry in England and Wales. We breed from ancient dam lines and established international showjumping and dressage stallions, using embryo transfer as well as Equine AI, or Artificial Insemination – information on which can be viewed at http://www.equineai.com/.

Our main studbooks are Oldenburg, KWPN, Anglo European Studbook, and Sport Horse Breeding (GB)- although the studs we tend to use for importing mares or semen, are Paul Schockemohle‘s Lewitz Stud in Germany, or Team Nijhof‘s stud in the Netherlands.

The stallions we use are generally from Equine AI, and their breeding can be traced back using the All Breed Database service.
